The F.D.A recently approved the new weight loss drug in a decade, Beliviq or generically known as lorcaserin, a pill made to be to taken twice-a-day. Belviq is said to suppress appetite and appears to affect metabolism by influencing levels of the brain chemical serotonin. Assuming it works, this is great news for those that need it and can tolerate it. For those who do not qualify for the drug however, and just consume too much sugar, Belviq is not the way to go. What can you do to naturally improve your diet to limit your sugar intake and enhance your health?
Sugar slips into our diet unnoticed more than any other deleterious substance. Why is sugar bad for you? The answers are rather obvious: weight gain, mood swings, insulin-resistance, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, and other hormonal imbalances. Below are ten ways to beat the sweet so that you might at most stave off disease and in the least feel healthier, stronger, and more centered.
1. If you drink coffee or tea appreciate their real flavor.Nix all sweeteners.
2. If you drink juice limit your consumption of it to one 6oz.-8oz. glass a day. Only drink fresh squeezed organic juices.
3. Make your meals at home as often as you can. Avoid using sugar in sauces and dressings, sauces…etc. Make dressings and sauces with olive oil, vinegar, lemon, salt, pepper and other healthy organic natural herbs, spices, and ingredients.
