Diet Tips: The role of proteins in weight loss

Many people are confused about the use of protein in weight loss.  What are proteins, why they are important and how they can affect our weight loss efforts?
In this article I will focus more on protein and try to explain why protein is necessary for a healthy weight loss.

What are proteins?

Proteins are usually known to be found in animal products such as meat, fish, cheese, eggs, yogurt etc. They are also found in tofu and soya products, and in smaller amounts in legumes. Proteins can be divided into essentials (can only get them from food) and non-essentials (can make them in our body). The quality of the protein we eat is very important as regardless of the amount of protein we consume if it lacks of essential proteins it could have negative effects to health.

Why are proteins important?

Proteins are essential for our body in all levels. We need them to build muscle, hormones, and enzymes, used for the immune system, bone tissue, organs and the list goes on and on. Protein is the last resort the body will use as fuel as it is very important for the body and will try to preserve it as much as it can. Protein is not stored as such as all protein in the body is active and in working component.

I Do All the Right Things and l Still Can't Lose Weight

This time of year always gets people in trouble because they’ve often made some ridiculous New Years resolution to lose a lot of weight very quickly. It probably seemed like a good idea a month ago, but in spite of  new diet and extra workouts unfortunately it’s the same old problem, you say “I do all the right things and I still can’t lose weight.” Jill Weisenberger, M.S., R.D., C.D.E., Life script Nutrition Expert has a full two reasons why that happens all the time.

I Do All the Right Things and I Still Can’t Lose Weight

Why are so many dieters destined to regain lost weight or never lose anything at all?
Here are 10 reasons your body isn’t behaving:
1. Physical Factors: Someone don’t have enough muscle.
The more muscle someone have, the more calories someone burn. Fat and muscle tissues consume calories all day long whether anyone is running, reading or sleeping. No matter what anyone is doing, muscle rips through more calories than fat.

That’s why men burn calories a lot faster than women; they have more muscle.
What to do: Lift weights. Anyone don’t have to get huge, but building and maintaining muscle week after week, year after year makes a difference in the long run.
Registered dietitian and certified personal trainer Marci Anderson has her clients alternate between strength exercises and heart rate-raising cardio in each session.
“That way, their strength training includes the calorie-burning effect of cardio.”

5 Bodyweight exercises that burn fat

Not everybody wants or can spend an hour in the gym everyday training. A lot of people would be happy to know a handful of exercises which they can do at home and still have the fat burning benefits.
In this article I have gathered 5 exercises which they use your own body’s weight but they can still provide a fat burning and muscle building workout. I don’t believe in absolute statements such as ‘the very best of exercises’ or ‘the only exercises’. These exercises are not the only ‘best’ exercises you can do as there is a plethora of exercises which will deliver good results. You can use these in combination to another workout or pick the ones you like and use them with others you may have in your list. Below are some things to keep in mind regarding exercising.

Before you start exercising

1. When you are exercising your body will use calories (energy) to fuel the exercise, no matter what exercise it is. The type of fuel, whether it is fat, sugar or other will depend on the type of exercise, the intensity, the meal consumed before and when and a number of other reasons.
2. In very simple terms, the exercise must place some considerable challenge in your body and muscles in order to ‘build muscle’. However, this doesn’t mean that you should jump to intermediate level when you never exercised before in your life so you get maximum results. You are more likely to get loads of injuries and suffer. Build gradually.

What are empty calories foods with examples

Empty calories foods” is the term used to describe foods that provide energy (calories), but offer little or nothing in terms of nutritional value.  The most common sources of empty calories are those high in fat or sugar (or both!) and are often processed or snack foods.  Think about soft drinks, candy, chips and French fries – to name just a few.  All of these foods are high in sugar or fat, provide a large amount of calories, but provide few or no vitamins, healthy fatty acids, fiber or essentials minerals to the body.  Unfortunately, these foods are consumed in vast quantities are probably to blame for high levels of obesity and diet related illness such as Type 2 Diabetes and Heart Disease.

Empty Calorie Foods and Malnutrition

What many people do not realize is that many of obese people may also be malnourished.  Although most people associate malnutrition with people who are under weight and do not consume enough calories, a person who exists solely on a diet of high fat and sugar foods is also at risk of dangerous nutrient deficiencies.  A diet high in empty calorie foods can lead to lack of vitamins and minerals that can cause
